I stand with peace

I stand with peace.

Hope wonder and joy fills us all.

The language of love.

The language of liberty.

Kind words can sink into peoples’ hearts.

They can heal and give love.

They can make all the difference to their potential inside.

However, sometimes silence is powerful!

Silent, I can stand here to remember.

Remember that I must stand with big heart and kind words

I must stand with peace.

*Thomas wrote this poem after visiting the WW2 memorial on the Danube in Hungry.

This memorial with a line of bronze shoes from men, women and children, as a memorial to the Hungarian Jews who lost their lives on the side of the Danube.

He stood quietly for quite some time, then turned to us and said- ‘ I stand with peace.’
